Gertrude Louise Kupar, 79, of Washington, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington, following a two-week illness.
She was born January 26, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of John and Louise Olejarz Saveikis.
Mrs. Kupar attended Trinity schools.
She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone for more than 20 years and as an EKG technician at Washington Hospital for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Kupar was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, and enjoyed cooking, sewing and cleaning house.
On September 1, 1956, she married George Kupar Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, George John Kupar of Washington; a daughter, Karen (Kevin) Zumpetta of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; a sister, Janice Baldwin of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Alexandra Zumpetta.
Deceased are a brother, Louis Saveikis; a sister, Jean Tuel; and her stepfather, John Poroslo.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, with Father James Ragan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. A Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
