Louise A. Hay, 77, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in the Washington Hospital, after having been in declining health the last two years.
She was born in Washington on June 13, 1930, a daughter of Arles and Ethel Hall Moore.
Mrs. Hay was part owner of Rusty's Towing Service and had once managed Hay's Truck Stop as well as the Claysville Restaurant. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially Holiday meals, reading, shopping, traveling, doing word search books, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was once a member of the Allison Avenue Baptist Church.
On March 7, 1945, she married Russell Clair "Rusty" Hay, who died on October 27, 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Russell C. ( Linda ) Hay, Jr., Gerald F. "Barrell" ( Joyce ) Hay, and Malcolm V. Hay, all of Washington; three daughters, Deborah ( Clarence ) Bennett of Elyria, Ohio, Vicki J.R. ( Leroy ) Marker of Washington, and Mary L. Hay Adams of Meadowlands; a brother Arles Moore, Jr., of Claysville; five sisters, Arlene Conoway of Canonsburg, Gladys Crites of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Jane Reese of Claysville, Carol Ramsey of Vanago, and Vesta "Beck" Jellen of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Dawn Hay, Donna Mantia, Gerald B. Hay, Marcie and Joseph Unrue, Heather Hay, Heidi Hay, and Andrew Hay Adams; as well as six great-grandchildren.
Friends of Louise A. Hay, 77, of Washington, who died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, will be received on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007, at 11:00 AM, Rev. Barry Sweet officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
