William George Hunter

February 22, 1946 — October 31, 2004

William George Hunter, 58, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, October 31, 2004, at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Virginia, following a four month battle with Cancer. He was born in Canonsburg on February 22, 1946, a son of the late Walter and Anna Mary Miller Hunter. He was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School and served in the United States Army from July 1965 - July 1968. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the Bronze Star.. Mr. Hunter was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Washington prior to his enlistment in the Army. He enjoyed Country Western Music and was a history enthusiast. He was employed by Olympus Auto Parts in Merrifield, Virginia. Surviving are his wife, Janet Elaine Baskette. Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly and Katrina Hunter, both of Arlington, Virginia; a brother, Walter Ed Hunter and his wife Karen Schutte Hunter of Washington; a nephew Edward Eric Hunter and a niece Stacey Mechele Hunter Willis, both of Centreville, Virginia. Memorial services for William George Hunter, 58, formerly of Washington, will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at North Buffalo Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery The family requests memorial donations be made to: Hospice Home Call Services, Inc., 8245 Boone Blvd., Suite 403, Vienna, Virginia, 22182.
