Estella Mary Day, 84, of Washington, died at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at the Donnell House following a brief illness. She was born on August 6, 1920, in Washington, PA, a daughter of James Agnew and Nelle Paul Houston. Mrs. Day worked as a sales clerk at Lang’s for 8 years, where she retired in 1980. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She played in the Monday night Women’s Bowling League, and the Senior Citizen’s Bowling League, and was inducted into the Pennsylvania Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001. She also played in the Tuesday Evening Golf League. Mrs. Day was a Troop Leader and a Juliet Lowe chairperson for the Girl Scouts in the 1950’s, a class advisor of Y-Teens, a member of the Washington Chapter Eastern Star #409 and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. On January 8, 1937, she married Charles Raymond Day, who died October 30, 1972. Surviving is a brother, James Lewis Houston, of Washington, PA; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Lynne Dille, Cheryl Naser Wyatt, Lori Sue Allum and Dale Von Naser; 7 great grandchildren, Kari Renea, Jodi Lynne Dille, Seth Michael Allum, Samantha Jo Allum, Zachery Allum, Chandler Carol Wyatt and Dane Alexander Wyatt; she is also survived by her best friend of 32 years, Ruth Comfort; deceased is a daughter, Carol Ann Naser. Family and friends of Estella Mary Day, who died Wednesday, November 3, 2004, will be received Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA., where services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating. Interment will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
