Dennis James Piatt

Dennis J. Piatt, 45, of Washington died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in the Donnell House following a two year illness. He was born in Washington on June 19, 1957, the son of Gerald Amos and Mildred Irene Piatt. Mr. Piatt was a 1975 graduate of Chartiers -Houston High School and had worked as a heavy equipment operator for more than 25 years, first for James H. Smith and Son then later for Bear Construction. Mr. Piatt enjoyed auto mechanics and was an avid John Deere tractor fan. On June 19, 1993 he married Stephanie Crawford, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dennis J. Piatt, Jr. and a step-son, Jay Robert Crawford, Jr. both at home; a daughter, Christina Danielle Piatt of Washington, two brothers; Gerald Andrew Piatt of Avella and Edward Amos Piatt of Washington, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are grandparents, Thomas and Moynelle Hallaway, Amos and Florence Piatt; two sisters, Sandra Lee Piatt and Donna Jean Piatt-Williams. Friends of Dennis J. Piatt, Sr., who died on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Where services will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 12:30 PM with John Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
