Homemaker was member of Holy Rosary Church in Muse. Dorothy Helen Gergosky, 82, of Washington, formerly of Muse, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, in Donnell House, Washington, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born July 11, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of Harry Harton Sr. and Myrtle May Cunningham Harton. Mrs. Gergosky was a homemaker and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Muse. Prior to living in Hazel Day's Personal Care Home for the past three years, she had made her home with her grandson, Sean Demnyan, and his wife, Natalie. On July 26, 1947, she married Michael Gergosky Sr., who died May 19, 1973. Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Demnyan of Canonsburg and Betty Lou Messner of Bridgeville; two stepdaughters, Dolores Mazza and Katherine Basim, both of Houston; a stepson, Mike Gergosky Jr. of Penn Hills; a brother, Harry Harton of Washington; a sister, Sara Lomax of Danville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Sean Demnyan of Muse, John Thorpe of Carnegie and Theresa Ryan of Green Tree; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a stepson, Andy Gergsoky; four brothers, Robert, Mitchell, Gaylord and Warren Harton; and two sisters, Ethel Amos and Nora Plants. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25, with the Rev. George Deville officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Hospice, 393 Vanadium Road, Suite 202, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
