Helen Berry

Helen Berry, 83, of Washington, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, in The Washington Hospital. She was born July 18, 1924, in Massillon, Ohio, a daughter of Matthew and Mary Yastsko Elabsky. Mrs. Berry was a cake finisher at Nickel’s Bakery for 27 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed embroidery, bowling, watching football games, and being with her grandchildren. On November 10, 1945, she married Bert Oscar Berry, who died October 17, 2005. Surviving are a daughter, Diana Lynn Berry of Washington; two sisters, Nellie Leininger and Mary Cooper, both of Massillon, Ohio; two grandchildren, Scott (Jodi) Berry and Kara (Josh) Clark; and four great-grandchildren, Lillah Clark, Brice Berry, Collin Berry and Lyndsay Berry. Deceased are siblings, Ann Timosko, Betty John and Edward Elabsky. Friends will be received 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 until 11:30 a.m., the hour of service, Thursday, January 10, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, with Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating.
