John V. "Jack" Earley, Sr., 82, of Washington, died Monday, November 1, 2004, in the Donnell House following a lengthy illness. He was born in Washington on November 11, 1922, a son of Harry and Catherine Griffin Earley. Mr. Early had attended Immaculate Conception High School. He was a World War II Veteran having been a survivor of Pearl Harbor along with his brother. He was a retired Auto Body Repairman, he once worked at C. Powell Chevrolet and later for Rudy Schriver Chevrolet. Mr. Earley was a member of the American Legion Post # 175, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandsons.
His wife, Thelma McKay survives. Also surviving are two sons, John V. "Jack" Earley of Grafton, West Virginia, Ronald C. Earley and his wife Faye of Washington; a daughter, Diana Woodburn and her husband Bill of Washington; four grandchildren, Ronald Earley Jr., Colleen Climas, Brian Earley Sr., and Ashley Earley; and seven great-grandchildren, Brian Earley Jr., Brandon, Alainah, and Brody Earley, Kevin Climas Jr., Amber and Brayaunna Climas.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Harry and Bob Earley; and a sister, Patricia Earley.
Friends of John V. "Jack" Earley, Sr., 82, of Washington, will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Full military honors graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175, American Legion.
