Paul L. Brownlee Sr., 71, of Avella, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a two-year illness. He was born July 9, 1933, in Washington, a son of Clark and Margaret Perkins Brownlee. Mr. Brownlee graduated from Trinity High School in 1951 and attended Grove United Presbyterian Church. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and co-owned, with Bill Ferrar, B&F Sales and Service, where they sold Oliver and Gehl farm machinery. Mr. Brownlee was a member of Farm Service Agency Committee for 15 years, Custom Farming for 20 years, Holstein Association, Farm Bureau of Pennsylvania and Cozy Camp of Brockway. On February 14, 1957, he married Martha Ann Thorne, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David (Lynn) Brownlee of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Mark (Dawn) Brownlee of Avella; a daughter, Lori (Ralph) Ferraro of Sykesville, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Krissie Brownlee of Washington; and 10 grandchildren, Laura, Rebecca and Jessica Brownlee, Matt, Justin and Joshua Brownlee, Meghan and Ashley Brownlee and Sam and Ben Ferraro. A son, Paul Brownlee, is deceased.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, with Jack Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grove United Presbyterian Church, 125 East Main Street, West Middletown, PA 15379.
