Dario Valentine Bazzoli Sr., 72, of Washington, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005, in the home of his son, Daniel Bazzoli, following a six-month illness.
He was born February 14, 1933, in South Strabane Township, a son of Stanley and Clementine Zanoteli Bazzoli.
Mr. Bazzoli was Catholic.
He had been employed by Metro Glass and was a member of Polaski Club, Polish Club and FOE.
He raised and raced pigeons.
Mr. Bazzoli served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Korean Service Medal.
Surviving are two sons, Dario Valentine Bazzoli Jr. and Daniel Edwin Bazzoli, both of Washington; a stepson, John Lowery of Canonsburg; two stepdaughters, Belinda Lowery and Cecelia Clark, both of Washington; and two brothers, Daniel Cortez and wife Elba of Livonia, Mich., and Charles Bazzoli of Bridgeville.
Deceased are a brother, Stanley Bazzoli; and a sister, Thelma Viola Bazzoli.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, with the Rev. David Price officiating. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
