Stella Marie McCoy, 84, of Washington, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.
She was born November 13, 1920, in Jacksonburg, W.Va., a daughter of Albert K. and Mary Ellen Edgell Kendall.
Mrs. McCoy lived in the Lincoln Hill area of Washington for 39 years and in Pleasant Grove for 17 years.
She was a 1938 graduate of Trinity High School and was formerly employed in the housekeeping department of Presbyterian Senior Care.
Mrs. McCoy was a charter member (1958) of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed all church activities.
She was a former member of Buffalo Grange, completing the entire degree work in the grange.
She enjoyed reading and traveling, with one of her favorite trips to Israel in 1987.
On September 5, 1940, she married John A. McCoy, who died August 29, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, James Kenneth McCoy and John Mark McCoy, both of Washington; a daughter, Dayle McCoy Kelley of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Lillian Lucille Manon of Washington; five grandchildren, Todd and Christopher Kelley, Carrie Ann McCoy Carpenter and Ashley Nicole and Amanda Marie McCoy; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Ellen Marie McCoy, who died in her youth; a grandchild, James K. McCoy II; and three brothers, Ken, Dale and Ralph Kendall.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral Services will be held on
Tuesday, May 10, at 11:00 am in the Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Drive, Washington, Rev. Fred McCloskey officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
