Esther Jane Hays

Homemaker, former member of Canonsburg U.P. Church. Esther Jane Hays, 59, of Washington, formerly of Hohenwald, Tenn., died Saturday, November 24, 2007, following a five-month illness. She was born in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of Ralph Edward and Norma May McMahan Greene. Mrs. Hays was a homemaker and was once a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, prior to leaving the area. While living in Hohenwald, she belonged to Faithfulness to Souls Harbor Church. Her husband, Murvin Hays, is deceased. Surviving are a son, Martin Huffman; and a daughter, Penny Sue Phillips, both of Florida; sisters Cheryl Brabrant of Youngstown, Evelyn Hart of Ocala, Fla., Rhonda Saunoras of Columbia, Mo., Judith Rich of Vanderbilt and Alice McDonald of Washington, with whom she made her home; and a grandchild, Valerie Phillips. Deceased is a brother, Ralph Edward Greene Jr., who died in infancy. At the request of the deceased, no public visitation will be held.
