Richard Dale Atchison

Richard D. Atchison, 66, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1938, in Westland, PA, a son of Frank and Hazel Emery Atchison. Mr. Atchison once worked at Findlay Clay and later at Mac Plastics. He was an avid Steeler fan and enjoyed camping and fishing. Mr. Atchison was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On December 5, 1958, he married Nellie M. Loar, who died December 2, 1999. Surviving is a daughter, Betty Burgan of Bentleyville; a stepdaughter, Patty Semple of Canonsburg; a stepbrother, Dave Southard of Washington; 2 brothers, Thomas and Robert Atchison, both of Washington; a sister, Mary Ann Hughey of Bentleyville; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Deceased is a brother, William Atchison; a son, Richard Atchison, a stepson, Donald Southard and a great grandchild. Friends of Richard D. Atchison of Washington who died Thursday, August 5, 2004, will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA, where services will be held on Monday, August 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
