Decorated Navy veteran was 1939 Trinity graduate A. Kenneth Wilson, 82, of Washington, died unexpectedly Monday, March 29, 2004, in Washington Hospital. He was born March 7, 1922, in Eighty Four, a son of William G. and Edna Crawford Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Third United Presbyterian Church. He worked as a sales manager at Nuclear Machine Shop in Irwin. Mr. Wilson was a member of Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM, Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 and U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy on submarines in the Pacific Theater during World War II and in Korea. He received a Combat Insignia award with two gold stars, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with five stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two stars and Korean Service Medal. Mr. Wilson was a 1939 graduate of Trinity High School. On July 3, 1943, he married Betty L. Peterson, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Timothy E. Wilson of Glenside; a daughter, Donna L. Carlisle of Washington; a sister, Helen Lusk of Washington; five grandchildren, Lisa DiNapoli, Kimberly Angott, Kelly Carlisle, Nicole Stokes and Shannon Wilson; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, William Charles Wilson, who died in infancy; a sister, Dorothy Jean Wilson, who died in infancy, and Esther L. Lindsay, who died in 1943. WILSON - Friends of A. Kenneth Wilson of Washington, who died Monday, March 29, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, with Pastor William E. Lusk officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175. U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II will hold services at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home
