Weldon Louis Hall

Weldon Louis Hall, 81, of Washington, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, in the Washington Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born in Republic, on October 23, 1922, a son of John and Ella Hall. Mr. Hall was Protestant. He served with the United States Army in Germany during WW II having received the WW II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. Until retirement, he worked as a Coal Miner in the Marianna # 58 Mine, was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, L.O.O.M. # 22, and was a former member of F.O.E. # 687. On June 25, 1955, he married Mary Ruth Stoner who died on July 3, 1978. He later married Naomi Beatty who is also deceased. Surviving are three sons, Weldon Hall of Washington, John F. and Dewey D. Hall, Both of Marianna; three daughters, Mary Lee Rager of Washington, Suella Byers of Washington, Ruth Hall Michler of Marianna; a step-daughter, Joyce Ann Dotson of Lancaster, California; a brother, Harry Hall of Florida; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; numerous Nieces and Nephews. Preceding him in death are a brother John Hall; three sisters, Leona Colburn, Susie Hall, and Aretha Hall; and one great-grandchild. Friends of Weldon Louis Hall, who died on Sunday, March 28, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 pm Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, Rev. Joe DiDonato, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
