1971 Trinity grad was pastor at area churches The Rev. David Joseph Falvo, 50, of Canonsburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2004, in Washington Hospital, Washington. He had been ill since January 2003. He was born December 24, 1953, in Washington, a son of Louis J. and Norma J. Mitchell Falvo. The Rev. Falvo was a 1971 graduate of Trinity High School. He also graduated from Berean Bible College. During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was pastor at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church for five years and was previously associate pastor at Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Freeport and Central Assembly of God Church in Houston and pastor at First Assembly of God Church in Waynesburg. He enjoyed sports, golf, softball and running. On September 2, 1972, he married Celeste Jean Pavlik, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, the Rev. Joshua John Falvo of Washington and Jason Louis Falvo of Waynesburg; a brother, Michael Patrick Falvo of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a grandson, Dominic Giovanni Falvo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m., the hours of service, Monday, September 13, in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joshua John Falvo and the Rev. Rob Berk officiating. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 200 Banetown Road, Amity, PA 15311.
