Mary Katherine Burk

Member of Friendship Community Church Mary Katherine Burk, 76, of Washington, died Friday, May 28, 2004, in Washington County Health Center, Washington, after a four-year illness. She was born September 20, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of James and Grace Beddow Leonard. Mrs. Burk worked as a nurse's aide at Ankrom Nursing Home. She also worked in Claysville Nursing Home and Angelo's Restaurant. She was a member of Friendship Community Church. Mrs. Burk enjoyed cooking, baking and bingo. On October 14, 1947, she married Theodore Smith Burk Sr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Theodore S. Burk Jr. of Amwell Township, and Donnie L. and Gary K. Burk, both of Washington; three daughters, Shirley Cossu, Maryland Molinaro and Barbara S. Hines, all of Washington; two sisters, Betty McCloskey of Washington and Dolores Homer of Taylorstown; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Donald, Alfred and William Leonard; and two sisters, Ruth Knox and Shirley Ann Leonard. BURK - Friends of Mary Katherine Burk of Washington, who died Friday, May 28, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
