WWII vet, Scenery Hill Telephone Co. employee.
James Roland (Ronnie) Frazee, 80, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 6, 1926, in Washington, a son of Newell "Doc" and Estella Marie Sutton Frazee.
Mr. Frazee worked as a lineman for Scenery Hill Telephone Co. for 20 years.
During World War II, Mr. Frazee served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater, earning the World War II Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 23, 1946, with a rank of sergeant.
Mr. Frazee was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church and Swart Phillips American Legion Post 897 of Glyde and enjoyed yard and garden work and playing cards.
On April 14, 1949, he married Norma Ruth Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James (Carolyn) Frazee of Stoneville, N.C.; a daughter, Lisa Frazee Wood of Washington; three brothers, Demas S. Frazee of Claysville, Kenneth B. Frazee of Lone Pine and Andrew Frazee of Arizona; and four grandchildren, Keith and Jeffrey Frazee, Halee Wood and Steven Wood.
Deceased are a brother, Reynold Frazee, and two sisters, Elizabeth Taylor Hudak and Grace Crawford.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, with the Rev. Don DeWeese officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by American Legion Post 897. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Washington Hospital Hospice, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
