Frances Ellenor "Red" Dodd, 76, of Canonsburg, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2004, in Canonsburg General Hospital. She had been Ill since July 9, 2000, since suffering a stroke,
She was born October 20, 1927, in Washington County, a daughter of Harry K. and Alice Grimes Ullom.
Mrs. Dodd was a member of South Canonsburg Church.
She attended Chartiers High School and was formerly employed at Hahns Greenhouse in Canonsburg.
Mrs. Dodd enjoyed baking and gardening.
On March 4, 1947, she married Daniel Wellington Dodd, who died September 1, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Daniel W. Dodd Jr. and wife Bonnie of Canonsburg; two daughters, Hazel and her husband, Larry Donahue, of Sidney, Ohio, and Patricia and her husband, Steve Sevak, of Sulfur Springs, Ark.; a brother, James Ullom of Washington; three sisters, Betty J. Bower of Hickory, Shirley A. Gizzoni of Washington and Jean M. Dodd of Canonsburg; eight grandchildren, Larry and Karen Donahue, Heather, Leanna and Stephanie Sevak and Daniel III, Douglas and Dawna Dodd; and a great-granddaughter, Alana Dodd.
Deceased are two sisters, Ruth E. Roach and Geraldine Russell; and five brothers, Thomas R., George R., Harry K. Jr., William C. and Ova E. Ullom.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, with the Rev. James O'Brien officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
