Marjorie Faye Riggle

Washington homemaker enjoyed gardening. Marjorie Faye Riggle, 78, of Washington, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born May 25, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Perry and Helen Shrontz Bigler. Mrs. Riggle was a homemaker and a part-time baby sitter. A graduate of Trinity High School, she previously was a member of Avery United Methodist Church and Lone Pine Christian Church. Mrs. Riggle enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pirates baseball fan. On September 5, 1952, she married John Carl Riggle, who died September 25, 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Karla Sue and husband the Rev. Scott Berkley of Belle Vernon; brothers Carl and Gary Bigler, both of Washington; a brother-in-law, Gaylord Murphy of Canonsburg; sisters Lydia Wonsettler of Vancouver, Wash., Jean Theakston of Washington, Ida McGuane of Wheeling, W.Va., and Mary Franks of Cortland, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Jane Bigler of Washington; three grandchildren, Claire, Marissa and Colin Berkley; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are brothers William and Albert Bigler; and sisters Rita Murphy and Edee Bigler. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, with the Rev. R. Scott Berkley officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Avery United Methodist Church or Lone Pine Christian Church.
