Taught Sunday school for 60 years at Liberty UM Church
Ruby Evelyn Johnson, 92, of Washington, died at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, in Anderson Personal Care Home, Claysville, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 14, 1912, in West Virginia, a daughter of William and Mae Hull Jackson.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking.
She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 60 years and sang in the choir.
On April 5, 1932, she married John Bertram Johnson, who died January 31, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, James W. and Donald L. Johnson, both of Washington; two half brothers, Clifford Jackson of Claysville and Arizona, and Kenneth Jackson of Claysville; a half sister, Betty Watson of Claysville; six grandchildren, Barry Johnson, Robin Neel, Dana Lyle, Kevin Johnson, Brian Johnson and Eric Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Wayne Jackson; three sisters, Elma Ashmore, Wilma Frye and Georgia Jackson; and her stepmother, Leanna Jackson.
