Catherine R. Eklund

Catherine R. (Kay) Eklund, 94, of Washington, died December 23, 2007, in Humbert Lane Personal Care Home. She was born in Meadowlands on July 3, 1913, the daughter of the late John Weber and Rosalie (Skalka) Weber. Mrs. Eklund worked at the Hazel Atlas Glass Factory prior to her marriage to the late Arnold C. (Ernie) Eklund of Washington on November 28, 1934. She spent most of her life being a loving wife to her husband, Ernie, and being a loving mother of Dennis C. Eklund of Washington, who survives. Also surviving are Pennirae Seibert Knorp, her goddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eklund was an active member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in the past and served the church in many ways. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Weber, Frank Weber, Paul Weber, and a sister, who died in infancy. At the request of the decedent and her family, there was no public funeral. Private interment was in Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be sent to the organization of one’s choice and condolences may be sent to Dennis C. Eklund, 820 E.
