D. Edward McCoy, 76, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 16, 2005, in his residence.
He was born October 7, 1928, in Washington, a son of William Carl and Lulu Blanche Davidson McCoy.
Mr. McCoy was a steelworker for Tri-State Engineering and a member of the steelworkers local. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being with his grandchildren.
Mr. McCoy was a veteran of the United States Army.
On March 26, 1960, he married Mary Jane Borkowski, who died April 9, 1992.
Surviving are one son, Joseph Michael McCoy of Colorado Springs, CO; three daughters, Kristy McCoy, Terri (James) Walker, and Londa (Mark) Hughes, all of Washington; two brothers, Robert McCoy of Washington and Richard McCoy of Canonsburg; two sisters, Margaret Brodnick of Meadowlands and Mary Grace Grimm of Avella; ten grandchildren, Kelli Allen, Shannon, Scottie and Stacey McCoy, Dustin Clark, Derek Hughes, Kayla and Jennie Walker, and Shane and Samuel McCoy; and one great-grandchild, McKenna Brickell.
Deceased are three brothers, Joseph, who died in infancy, and John and William S. McCoy.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005, with Reverend Harold L. Knappenberger, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow in Washington Cemetery.
