Mary Olive Whipkey

Mary Olive Whipkey, 89, of Washington, died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington. She was born March 24, 1917, in Rutan, Greene County, a daughter of Francis Enlow and Nettie Mae McNeeley Fletcher. Mrs. Whipkey was a member of Hart Avenue Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker. She loved search puzzles and reading, especially the Bible. On June 1, 1943, she married Robert Charles William Whipkey, who died July 13, 1990. Surviving are four sons and a daughter, Richard A. Whipkey and Suzanna of West Alexander; Charles F. Whipkey, wife Laura, children Jason, Justin, and Cassie, and stepchildren Jimmy and Tina of Washington; Judy Clemens, husband Richard, and children Daniel, Cory and Katy of Washington; William Reed Whipkey, wife Debbie, children Rachael, Brittany and Steven, stepchildren Michael and Michelle, and great-grandchildren Caleb and Cade of Washington; Randy M. Whipkey, wife Loria, children Lindsay and Stacy, and stepchildren Jamie and Sunny of Washington. Deceased are two sons, John Robert Whipkey and Edwin Fletcher Whipkey; and a brother, Harold Edmund Fletcher. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, with Pastor David Konecheck officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
