Willetta M. Richey, 91, of Washington, died at 9:58 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington. She had been in declining health for six months.
She was born September 19, 1915, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of Robert and Mary Hudock Farley.
Mrs. Richey was a graduate of Triadelphia High School, Wheeling.
She was co-owner and operator of Richey’s Market, Lagonda, with her husband for more than 50 years.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Hazel Atlas of Wheeling.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, South Franklin Township Homemakers Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of South Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
She enjoyed playing cards and going to Deep Creek, Md.
On July 20, 1946, she married Donald Merle Richey, who died August 21, 1979.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Alan and wife Linda Richey of Washington; four grandchildren, James and wife Carol Richey, Benjamin Richey, David and wife Bridget Rogers and Kristin and husband Bill Baxendell; and six great-grandchildren, Hanna, Ella and Dillon Richey, Kayla and Branden Baxendell and A. Jay Rogers.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Charles Farley.
Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, in Immaculate Conception Church, followed by interment in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to South Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
