Clara Wanetta "Trudi" King, 64, of Washington, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in Donnell House. She had been ill since December 2006.
Born November 19, 1942, she was the daughter of Joseph and Cleo Pearl Randolph Brown, Sr. She was born and raised in Avella.
Mrs. King was a graduate of McGuffey High School. She worked for 25 years at Unimart and for 8 years at Dick's Sporting Goods.
Mrs. King was active in ACS Relay for Life for several years, helping to raise money for cancer research. She enjoyed collecting frogs, rose gardening and watching sports, especially hockey, on television.
She was Protestant.
On September 1, 1967, she married James Earl King, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James Earl King, III; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Gheen, both of Washington; four brothers, Mike Brown of Washington, Norman Brown of Waynesburg, Roy Brown of Sarasota, Florida, and Walter Brown of Westland; one sister, Flora Chase of Amity; and ten grandchildren, Jamie, Brennan, Brianna, Austin, Londyn, Matthew, Danielle, Katelynn, Daniel and Nicholas.
Deceased are three brothers, Pat O'Donnell, Joseph Brown and William Brown; and three sisters, Betty Jo Weiland, Lilly Ostrander and Ellen Littell.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. Memorial contribution may be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington PA 15301.
