Betty G. Hagerty Calvert

Animal lover, member of Church of the Covenant. Betty G. Hagerty Calvert, 69, of Washington, died at 10:08 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, in the emergency room of Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 25, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of Frank G. and Sylvia Prigg Hagerty of Washington. Mrs. Calvert graduated from Trinity High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of the Covenant and loved animals. On September 14, 1957, in Winchester, Va., she married Dale Calvert, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Sue Calvert, at home, and Janis Lyn Crawford of Washington; a brother, Frank Hagerty of Washington; two sisters, Lois Willoughby of New London, N.C., and Susan (Michael) Caro of Chappaqua, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
