Fern Edna Werner

Fern Edna Werner, 95, of Washington, died Saturday, November 10, 2007, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Grapeville, Pennsylvania, on October 7, 1912, a daughter of William and Margaret Sadler Knauss. Earlier in her life, she worked at Jeanette Glass and Victory Glass as a Mould Cleaner. Mrs. Werner enjoyed making Embroidery, Quilting, as well as Crocheting. On April 8, 1931, she married Roy Lawrence Werner, who died on March 26, 1978. Surviving are a son, Gary R. ( Lu ) Werner of Aliquippa; four daughters, Janet ( Daniel ) Colombin of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Doris DiVecchio of Stowe Township, Dorothy Sessie of Baden, and Gladys E. ( Douglas ) Cook of Washington, with whom she made her home; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are two daughters, Joan Sullivan and Mary Werner; and four grandchildren. Friends of Fern Edna Werner, 95, of Washington, who died Saturday, November 10, 2007, will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in the Chapel at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, PA., Rev. Jean Wright officiating.
