Charles William Stoneking

Charles William Stoneking, 70, of Washington, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. He was born February 19, 1938, in Greene County, a son of the late William Howard and Irene Gump Stoneking. Mr. Stoneking graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1958. Protestant by faith, he always had a kind and generous heart, and would, and did, give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Surviving are his stepmother, Wanda Stoneking, who raised him; a brother, Francis (Nancy) Stoneking, of Rochester, Michigan; a stepbrother, David (Helen) Cooper of Washington; five nieces, Kathy (Nathan) Hilt, Marie (Owen) Coffman, Patty Cooper, Cindy (Ronnie) Eddy, and Phyllis Cooper; one nephew, Terry (Rhonda) Cooper; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008, with Rev. Craig Bellis officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301; or to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494
