Mae Elizabeth Beckwith-Ankrom, 90, of Eighty-Four, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Presbyterian Senior Care, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 20, 1918, in Tarentum, a daughter of the late Albert and Ethel Foster-Beckwith.
Mrs. Ankrom worked at the Montgomery Ward catalog store and the American Cancer Society in Washington. She was a member of the Eighty-Four Get-Together Club, Washington Art Association, and Senior Citizens Art Class. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and sewing.
Mrs. Ankrom attended the Christian Assembly of God Church in Bentleyville.
Mae loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Theodore Ankrom. They were married September 6, 1939.
Also surviving are three daughters, Janet Mae Whitaker and husband, Ronald, of Conroe, Texas, Diane Marlane Tush and husband, James Jr., of Eighty-Four, and Caryn Lynn Verno and husband, Carmine, of Bentleyville; one son, Theodore Albert Ankrom and wife, Roxanne, of Fredericktown; one sister, Dorothy Rieger of Natrona Heights; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Larry Duane Ankrom; a son-in-law, Gerry Beaumariage; three grandchildren, Troy Ankrom, Tony Schlenker and Clinton Whitaker; and a brother, John Beckwith.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 008, with Rev. William E. Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
