Vale Mccarl Ross

Vale McCarl Ross, 85, of Washington, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in the Washington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born July 24, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of James Wilson McCarl and Esther A. Ward McCarl. Mrs. Ross graduated from Washington High School in 1939. She was Protestant. On August 26, 1939, she married Kenneth Eugene Ross, who died November 27, 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Wendy R. (Mark, Jr.) Cappone and Cheryl R. Staats, both of San Antonio, Texas; one son, James M. Ross (Judith Upson) of Washington; eight grandchildren, Kathy Cappone, Karin Cappone, Christine Cappone (S. Michaelis), Bethany Burchill (Thomas Burchill), Jeremy J. Ross, Adam Staats, Erin Staats and Ryan Staats; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Friday, December 22, 2006, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Reverend Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
