Robert Edward Vankirk, 43, of Aydlett, North Carolina, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born September 18, 1963, in Washington, a son of Robert Vankirk of Washington and the late Cheryll Syrek Vankirk.
In 1982, Mr. Vankirk graduated from Trinity High School, where he had been an avid wrestler. He had worked in sales at Eighty-Four Lumber Company for eleven years.
Mr. Vankirk was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed gardening, golfing and all sports, and especially time spent with his son.
On September 11, 1999, he married Tammi Lynn Muto, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ryan Christopher Vankirk, at home; one brother, Randy Vankirk of Washington; and nieces and nephews, Savannah, Sabra, and Joshua Vankirk, and Matthew, Nicholas and A.J. Freiwald.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, with Father Nicholas Spirko officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
