WWII veteran enjoyed winemaking.
John Barney, 94, of Washington, died Monday, November 5, 2007, in Washington County Health Center, following a brief illness.
He was born October 22, 1913, in Scenery Hill, a son of John and Cora Carter Barney.
Mr. Barney worked as a maintenance supervisor in Washington Rubber Co.
He enjoyed winemaking and helping others with small projects.
Mr. Barney was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his wife, Pearl Sarah Doman Barney, who died January 15, 1985; a daughter, Alice Mae Barney Estrada; three brothers, Michael, Steve and Esper Barney; and two sisters, Catherine and Mamine Barney.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, with family friend Tom Sasfai conducting the services.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
