James John Tragone, 85, of Washington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in Humbert Lane Personal Care Center.
He was born March 5, 1922, in Crucible, a son of Peter and Rafael Revetta Tragone.
Mr. Tragone attended Monongahela High School. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from November 21, 1942, until his honorable discharge on March 4, 1946. He served in the Pacific Theater, where he saw action at Okinawa and Ryukyus Islands, and participated in the occupation of China.
Mr. Tragone was owner and operator of Washington Locker Plant, and, after selling his business, worked at Gabby Market. He was a member and past president of Pennsylvania Meat Processors Association. Mr. Tragone was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
On May 15, 1946, he married Antoinette "Toni"쳌 Albano, who died December 16, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Frank J. (Darlene) Tragone of Washington and James P. (Lois) Tragone of Yardley; a daughter, Antoinette "Punkin"쳌 (George) Relich of Washington; one sister, Mary Widmer of Bethel Park; five grandchildren, Amy Relich Cuddy, Timothy Relich, Adam Tragone, Jillian Tragone and Jeffrey Tragone; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Connor Cuddy.
Deceased are three brothers, Frank, Leo and Joseph Tragone; and one sister, Connie Rozick.
Friends will be received noon to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father William Feeney as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, PA 15301.
