Mary Belle Chadwick, 65, of South Franklin Township, died Friday, July 25, 2008, in Donnell House, following a seven-month illness.
She was born December 8, 1942, in McMechen, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James and Helen V. Grall Ealy.
Mrs. Chadwick graduated from Trinity High School in 1960. For 25 years, she worked at Washington Area Teachers Credit Union as office manager.
Mrs. Chadwick was a member of Enon Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Washington. She had served in several positions in both churches.
Mrs. Chadwick was past president of Washington County Genealogical Society, served on the board of League of Women Voters, and volunteered for Hospice Care.
She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher and an active line dancer.
On March 21, 1964, she married Hiram V. Chadwick, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Brian E. Chadwick of Washington; two daughters, Janis A. (Charles) Hickerson of Claysville and Shana R. (Douglas) Mazzotti of Bridgeville; seven brothers, James F., Thomas, John, David, George, Barry and Kevin Ealy; two sisters, Sharon Grimm and Donna Salisberry; six grandchildren, Shane Lusher, Sheldon Hancher, Caitlin and Savanna Zrimm, and Matthew and Isabella Mazzotti; and one great-grandchild, Seth Lusher.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29th, in First Baptist Church, College Street, Washington, with Pastor Steve Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
