Gaylord G. Shaw, 87, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, in Washington County Health Center following a two-year illness.
He was born September 27, 1919, in Washington, a son of Wilbert Lawrence and Blanche Hunter Shaw.
Mr. Shaw attended Trinity Schools. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and had driven a school bus for Schweinebraten Bus Company for 26 years.
Mr. Shaw was a member 67-year member of Third United Presbyterian Church and had formerly attended Chartiers Crossroads Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Buffalo Grange for 75 years and had held several offices in that organization.
He enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports.
On June 24, 1948, he married Mildred Sumney, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ralph G. Shaw and Paul D. (Betty) Shaw, both of Washington; a daughter, Linda Shaw of Washington; and two grandsons, Corey R. Shaw and Jason M. Shaw.
Deceased are three brothers, Wilbert, Alvin and Homer Shaw.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007, with Rev. Robert A. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
