James Emery Mccoy

James E. McCoy, 85, of Washington, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in the Washington Hospital after having been in declining health. He was born in Washington on July 24, 1921, a son of Boyd E. and Pearl M. McKeen McCoy. Mr. McCoy was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served in World War II in the Western Pacific, China, New Guinea, Luzon, and the Southern Philippines. He received the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, and the American Defense Service Medal. Prior to his military service, he was an automobile mechanic and later worked more than thirty years as a welder for US Steel Corp.�s Christy Park Works. He was a charter member of the Taylorstown American Legion and a member of the Church of the Covenant. On July 16, 1951, he married Eloise A. Murray who died on April 6, 1999. Surviving are a son, Jay ( Lynn ) J. McCoy of Canonsburg; a daughter Jo Ann ( John ) Corbly of Claysville; two grandchildren, John W. Corbly II and Timothy J. Corbly; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are two brothers, John and Glenn McCoy and a sister Lucy McCoy. Friends of James E. McCoy, 85, of Washington, who died Saturday, July 7, 2007, will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, where services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
