Marwood Ruschell, 95, of Washington, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Washington Hospital, following a five-year illness.
He was born August 10, 1911, in Belle Vernon, a son of Joseph and Eliza Ruschell.
Mr. Ruschell worked in the electric furnace department of Jessop Steel for 37 years.
He was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church, Jessop Employees Club and played drums in the Ray Ruschell Orchestra.
On November 15, 1936, he married Dorothy Virginia Blue, who died September 23, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, David J. Ruschell and Raymond L. Ruschell, both of Washington; a daughter, Susan D. McCullough of Claysville; eight grandchildren, Jodie Ireland, Joseph Ruschell, Amy McCullough, Steven McCullough, James Ruschell, Martha Ruschell, Melody Bollinger and Mark Ruschell; and a great-grandchild, Mylie Urista.
Deceased are five brothers, John, Ray, Frank, Bob and Joe Ruschell; a sister, Mary Jeffers; and a grandchild, Marcie Sue McCullough.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
