Shirley May Robl

Shirley May Robl, 67, of Washington, died Monday, August 13, 2007, in her home, following a one-year illness. She was born December 12, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of Ben and Flossie Slider Harrington. Mrs. Robl was a homemaker and enjoyed watching auto racing and football. She was Catholic. On January 7, 1957, she married William Robl, who died December 27, 1965. Surviving are five sons, William (Shelly) Robl of Washington, Dave (Kay) Robl of Texas, Nick Robl of Ohio, Mike (Rose) Robl and Burt Robl, both of Washington; three daughters, Peggy (Melvin) Ralston of Washington, and Sherry Marth and Susan (Robert) Minger, both of Wellsburg, West Virginia; three sisters, Mary “Anna” Maisa, Mabel Hughes and Becky Anderson; 26 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a daughter, Virginia Robl. Mrs. Robl leaves behind her two best friends, Bill Harley and James Rosen. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, with Rev. Volinda Custer officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
