Daniel Eric Florian, 54, of Washington, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington. He had been ill since February 2006.
He was born July 17, 1952, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph Ferdinand Jr. and Rosa Viola Sweet Florian.
Mr. Florian was a member of St. Hilary Church.
He had been employed by International Paper for 30 years, last working as a tow motor operator.
He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School class of 1970.
Mr. Florian was active with Sunlight Club and Narcotics Anonymous.
He collected coins, bottles, arrowheads and Washington memorabilia.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1973.
Surviving are a son, Pfc. Daniel Louis Florian, with the 600 Quartermaster Co., Fort Bragg, N.C.; a daughter, Sarah Rose Florian of Woodbridge, Va.; four brothers, Joseph Patrick Florian of Pensacola, Fla., Dr. Thomas Francis Florian of Lumberton, N.C., Gerald Richard Florian of Washington and Timothy Gerard Florian of Altus, Okla.; and three sisters, Therese Marie Bowles of Orlando, Fla., Mary Catherine DiVenne of Somerset and Roseanne Bunnell of Washington.
A sister, Susannah Florian, died December 7, 1974.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil officiating, followed by interment in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
