Stanley Beck, 87, of Washington, died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Donnell House. He had been ill since October 2006.
He was born November 22, 1919, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of Martin and Rose Beck.
Mr. Beck attended Washington Schools and worked for Jessop Steel for 43 years, first in the bar mill and then later as an inspector in the bar mill.
He enjoyed yard work, going to the beach, and spending time with James and Joshua.
Mr. Beck was an officer at the Jessop Club, and was in charge of bingo at the club.
On April 4, 1943, he married Mary E. Knotts, who survives.
Also surviving are a niece whom he raised, Crystal (Kevin) Beatty of Washington; a sister, Genevieve Jenkins of San Bernardino, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29th, with Pastor Ted Cukryznski officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
