Rita F. Badiali, of Washington, died Saturday, October 6, 2007.
She was born in Washington, a daughter of Fred C. and Mary Folino and was a lifelong resident of Washington. She was a graduate of Washington High School and had attended the Washington Seminary. Mrs. Badiali was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served as President of the Christian Mothers ( 1962-63 ).
In 1943, she married Dr. S. Charles Badiali and celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to his death on February 4, 1997.
During her early years, she served as an active member of many organizational boards including the Brownson House and Washington Hospital Auxiliary. Additionally, she participated in many local volunteer service groups.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lyn ( Dr. Thomas ) Drewitz and Deborah Jean ( John ) Knox; a son, Frederick G. ( Sherry ) Badiali; five grandchildren, Joshua ( Margaret ) Drewitz, Jessica Drewitz, Charlie ( Jaimelyn ) Knox, Chris Knox, and Frederick S. Badiali.
At the request of the deceased, no public visitation will be held. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, October 8, 2007, in Immaculate Conception Church, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in St. James Mausoleum. Arrangements under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Washington Hospital Foundation-Donnell House, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
