Edith F. Craft

Edith F. Craft, 90, of Prosperity, died Monday, December 4, 2006, in Washington Hospital, following a one-month illness. She was born August 17, 1916, in Washington, a daughter of Robert and Addie Florence Gray Kelley. Mrs. Craft graduated from Washington High School in 1934. She was very active in Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for more than fifty years. Years ago, she was active in Prosperity Grange. She was a librarian employed in the Washington & Jefferson College library for more than eighteen years and worked in the office at Major's Shoe Store. Mrs. Craft enjoyed puzzles and word search. On August 17, 1935, she married John Swart Craft, who died October 6, 1952. Surviving are two sons, Richard Eugene (Shirley) Craft of Spanaway, Wash., and William Elliott Craft of Washington; a daughter, Martha Louise (Stewart) Dille of Prosperity; six grandchildren, Jonna Craft, Thomas Jay Craft, Mark Edward Dille, Denis Alan Dille, Leah Rachael Hemminger and Jonathan William Craft; and four great-grandchildren. Deceased is a brother, Harold Reed Kelley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7, with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
