Laura Conner Houston, 85, of Washington, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born August 31, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of John Weldon and Lenna Moore Conner.
She was a homemaker.
She attended First Lutheran Church, Washington.
She enjoyed bingo and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On January 17, 1943, she married James L. Houston, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Susan Raye and husband Randall Wilson of Rogersville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Randall James Wilson, Deborah Lynne Begley and Joy Renee Wilson; four great-grandsons, Joshua Pabian, Jordan Pabian, Jayden Goins and Randy Wilson Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Her very dear friends were Fred and Kathy Huff.
Deceased are a daughter, Lynne Carol Houston; six sisters, Elizabeth Poland, Helen Craig, Margaret Fonner, Mona Lou Brimer, Katherine Hamilton and Mary Barnes; and three brothers, Clyde, Eugene and John Conner Jr.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 9, with the Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
