Olive P. Engle, 96, of Washington, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center. She had been in declining health for the last four years.
She was born January 8, 1911, in Wylandville, a daughter of Samuel Franklin and Bertha Moore Pattison.
Mrs. Engle graduated from Trinity High School in June 1929. She attended Washington Seminary and Penn Commercial. Mrs. Engle worked as a bookkeeper at the Gospel Bookstore, and also worked for Attorneys Brownlee & Atchison, Frazier Simplex, Washington Mould and Washington Typewriter.
She was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church since 1924.
On April 22, 1983, she married Robert Glenn Engle, who died March 24, 1988.
Surviving are one step-son and three step-daughters; one niece, Janet Rohaley of Washington; and three nephews, Robert Pattison, James Pattison and Kenneth Pattison, all of Washington.
Deceased are a step-daughter; three brothers, Russell D. Pattison and Robert Lester Pattison, and one who died in infancy; two sisters, Avis P. McCausland, and one who died in infancy; and a niece, Donna Pattison Supler.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, with Rev. James Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Chartiers Hill Church Cemetery.
