Lawrence Anthony Roth, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, in Washington Hospital, following a one-year illness.
He was born June 10, 1924, in Cokeburg, a son of Patrick and Elizabeth Dixon Roth.
Mr. Roth worked as a crane operator at Jessop Steel for 34 years, retiring in 1986.
During World War II, Mr. Roth served in the United States Navy. He was discharged January 4, 1946.
He was Catholic and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Roth enjoyed flying small planes and spending time at the airport.
On July 23, 1955, he married Eleanor Marie Devenney, who survives.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence Anthony (Julie Ann) Roth II of Washington; two daughters, Ava M. (Rick) Prutzman of Washington and Lois A. (Curtis) Johnson of Valley Grove, W.Va.; a sister, Helen Patricia (William) Anderson of Washington; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Nicholas Roth, Michael and Jennifer Prutzman and Curtis II and Erin Johnson.
Deceased is a brother, Richard Dixon Roth.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 22. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
