Sara Frances Plance, 91, of Washington, formerly of McDonald, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, in Canonsburg Hospital following a three year illness.
She was born in McDonald on July 2, 1915, a daughter of George and Bessie Doughty Kelso.
Mrs. Plance once worked at Patty Petites in Bridgeville for about ten years and had since been a home maker. She was a member of the Venice United Presbyterian Church, enjoyed quilting and playing bingo.
On March 28, 1940, she married Leonard LeRoy Plance, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, George E. (Patty) Plance of Richmond, Virginia, and Leonard L. ( Ida Jane ) Plance, Jr. of Wellsboro; a daughter Sara ( David ) Harriott of McDonald; a brother Robert Kelso of McDonald; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are a daughter, Bessie Virginia Riggs; two brothers, Mark and George Kelso; a sister, Betty Scott; and a great-grandchild.
Friends of Sara Frances Plance, 91, of Washington, formerly of McDonald, who died Sunday, January 28, 2007, will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
