Mabel Henderson, of Claysville, died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007, in her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington, a daughter of Harry and Olive Harper Smith. Mrs. Henderson worked as a laboratory technician at Metro Glass for more than 25 years. She was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church and enjoyed crocheting and formerly enjoyed playing bingo. On August 15, 1964, she married Elburn “Hoobie” Henderson, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, George Roger (Carol) Levers, of Palm Meadow, Florida, and Harry (Elaine) Levers of Fortville, Indiana; two step-sons, William J. (Katy) Henderson of Akron, Ohio, and Ronald (Cris) Henderson of Claysville; one sister, Violet Munchie of Burgettstown; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Walt Levers; two step-sons, Jack and Bob Henderson; two brothers, Lawrence and John Smith; and a sister, Gail Levers. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2007, with Rev. Dr. Susan VandeKappelle officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
