Alice Greco Kelley, 84, formerly of West Beau Street, Washington, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Washington, a daughter of James and Mary Gabriel Greco.
Mrs. Kelley was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a 1942 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.
During World War II, she worked for the war effort at an ammunitions facility in Washington, making grenades and bazookas.
Mrs. Kelley worked at Washington County Courthouse and later worked at Montgomery Ward, Washington, until its closing. She completed her working career at Hallmark Cards in downtown Washington.
Mrs. Kelley was a loving, kind and generous spirit. She loved reading, gardening, flowers and spending time with her large family and extended family of nieces and nephews. She also cared for animals, especially her devoted and loving cat, Thomas.
On December 18, 1971, she married James "Clyde" Kelley, who died December 3, 2001.
Mrs. Kelley was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are 10 nieces, Laura Hunt, Bernice Frazier and Cynthia Greco, all of Washington, Jane Ann Spence of Canonsburg, Judith Cholak of Graysville, Mary Ann Maloney of Brookville, Margaret Norton of Holmdel, N.J., Phillippe Tuscano of Manasquan, N.J., Barbara Lester of Hollywood, Fla., and Joset Rosati of New York, N.Y.; two nephews, Robert Hunt of Washington and Anthony Rosati of Medford, N.J.; three sisters-in-law, Angie Greco, Martha Greco and Wahnettia Kelley Moninger, all of Washington; and a brother-in-law, Louis Zuckett of Brookville.
Deceased are three brothers, Nicholas, Paul and Carmen Greco; four sisters, Sylvia Greco, Carmel Rosati, Grace Hunt and Pauline Zuckett; four nephews, Evans James Rosati, James P. Greco, Donald Greco and James M. Greco; and a niece, Carolyn Greco Eller.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
