Irene Parisse, 88, of Washington, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007, in Presbyterian Senior Care, following a one-year illness. She was born May 18, 1918, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of Romie and Flossie Good Goff. Mrs. Parisse was co-owner of Metropolitan Shoe Repair. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she helped with baptisms and was past treasurer of the Christian Mothers group. She also was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, where she was past regent and past district deputy, Mrs. Parisse was a volunteer at the Washington Hospital, where she was past president of the Auxiliary, was a member and past president of Washington Senior Citizens, and served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. On April 6, 1936, she married Romeo Parisse, who died December 21, 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Franci Parisse Davidson and her husband, John Davidson, of Mountain View, California; three grandchildren, Cindy Edington, Betsy Davidson and Molly Davidson; and two nephews and several nieces. Deceased is a brother, George W. Goff.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 o 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2007, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father Nicholas Spirko as celebrant.
